What is your favourite place on campus and why?

The Quad in the McCain on a sunny afternoon – there are plugs for laptops, bright chairs, grass, lots of sun, and very little wind – perfect place to get work done. Also, I thoroughly enjoy the Grawood after the work is done :)

Why are you running for the DSU?

Over the years, I have had countless opportunities to meet, hang out with, work with, and do projects with a diverse mix of students, societies, faculty, community members and organizations. The DSU needs to find the ways to support, engage, build foundations, and make connections with all of these peoples and groups. I am running for President so that I can find the balance between supporting and encouraging new ideas and securing strong foundations within the organization. I am running for this position so that I can bring the experience that is necessary and the passion that drives me to the office of DSU President.

What’s your best memory from your time at Dal?

Filming and creating the DSU Lip Dub! During the summer of 2010, I worked with a few friends, mostly on our lunch breaks, to plan everything out. From watching other videos for inspiration, making layouts of the SUB and timing ourselves walking and lip-syncing through the SUB, we spent countless hours planning everything out. And then August rolled around and filming was a BLAST! It was so fun to get it all on tape and sent out to incoming students. I would definitely do it all over again J

What would be your top three priorities if you got elected to this position?

Food Service – I will ensure that the new DSU Food Service is of the highest quality and student needs are truly represented as we move into the implementation phase.

External Issues and Lobbying – I will focus on representing student interests at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels. As President I will advocate for more official representation at our student lobby organizations for constituent groups like graduate and international students and their issues.

Executive Teamwork – I will foster a positive attitude of support and motivation within the Executive so that everyone can succeed to their fullest potential.

                                                                Is it Gray-wood or Grah-wood? Gray-wood, definitely, Gray-wood.
