What Do I Need to Vote?
All you need to know is your date of birth and Dalhousie B00 number! It takes no time at all to vote in the DSU Elections.
Only students who have paid the DSU fee for this term are eligible to vote. This includes full time and part time students, undergrads and graduate students, international students, etc. If you are on a work term, exchange, or are a King's student, you are not eligible to vote.

How Does the DSU Determine The Winners?
The DSU Elections uses a PREFERENTIAL BALLOT to determine the executive positions. The voter is asked to rank the candidates in order of preference in situations where there is more than one person running for a contested position. To complete a preferential ballot, rank the candidates according to your preference, from first to last. Should you wish, you only need to rank those candidates for whom you have a preference; you may choose to only enter your first choice or first and second, etc.
You are NOT permitted to enter non-sequential choices - for example, you are not allowed to rank one candidate 1st and another 4th and leave ranks 2 and 3 blank.
Senate and Board of Governors are elected using a simple plurality, not a preferential ballot. In situations where there is only one person running, or as many people running as there are positions, you will indicate a simple 'Yes' or 'No'.
