What is your past experience with the DSU or with student life in general on campus?

This year I began as an Orientation Leader, and subsequently won Top On-Campus Leader while leading Studley House to its first supremacy victory ever. I also have been heavily involved in planning and promoting live music nights at the Grawood as the Events Commissioner. I have also played a role as an Executive member of Dalhousies Environmental Programmes Student Society.

What is your favourite place on campus and why?

The Grawood. Not only is it my favourite place on campus, but it’s my favourite place in Halifax. It’s a place I can always be sure to run into great friends, have fun and enjoy live music over a fresh yard.

Why are you running for the DSU?

After being an Orientation Leader in 2011, I realized the impact I could have on students in a positive way. I love this University, and sharing my passion for it is natural to me. Following O-Week I found it difficult to separate myself from the incredible things going on in the SUB—from Feel Good Friday’s to Brains for Change. I feel that I am well suited to the position because I am a student that knows how to enjoy this place to the fullest.  Beyond this. I am easily approachable and very concerned with student’s interests. I foresee myself as a representative of the DSU that students can engage and share ideas with.

What’s your best memory from your time at Dal?

Hearing Studley House announced as winners of O-Week Supremacy in 2011.

What would be your top three priorities if you got elected to this position?

                                                                a) Continue and build on Feel Good Fridays with bigger names and acts coming to the Grawood

                                                                b) Engaging students the Nova Scotian community beyond the South End of Halifax

                                                                c) Building Dalfest into a festival of arts and culture that is a pillar in Nova Scotia

                                                                Is it Gray-wood or Grah-wood?

Although I used to say Grah-wood, our research this fall proved me wrong… it IS gray-wood!
