What is your past experience with the DSU or with student life in general on campus?

I have been an active and dedicated member of the Recruitment Committee and Orientation week Committee. After demonstrating my enthusiasm for student engagement and empowerment, I was selected to be a DSU Leadership Commissioner taking a lead role on initiatives such as the: Brains for Change conference, TEDx conference, Sandbox (student incubation) room, Art of Hosting retreat and Leadership Awards ceremony.

What is your favourite place on campus and why?

The Sandbox room is my favourite place on campus. The atmosphere in this space allows for creative collaboration and quiet reflection; I always seem to find inspiration and motivation in this room.

Why are you running for the DSU?

My involvement with the DSU has defined my experience at Dalhousie and allowed me to grow into the person I am today; I would like make a difference on campus and have a role in the learning experience of other students.  I’m passionate about evoking positive change on campus and in the community; if elected VP Internal I will have more capacity to make change.

What’s your best memory from your time at Dal?

My favourite memory is the Dalhousie vs. SMU Rugby game at the end of Orientation Week 2011. I knew from the energy in the stands that the committee had influenced the culture at Dalhousie; I felt an incredible sense of personal achievement and growth at the final event of the week.

What would be your top three priorities if you got elected to this position?

If elected Vice President Internal my top three priorities would be to create new partnerships between students, societies, administration and outside community groups, to foster a culture that empowers students to be leaders in their community, and to build long-term relationships which will extend beyond my term.

                                                                Is it Gray-wood or Grah-wood?

                                                                Gray-wood.
