What is your past experience with the DSU or with student life in general on campus?

I became involved with the Society of Dalhousie Music Students, first as the DASSS rep and then as VP External. I’ve sat on DASSS council for four years, currently as Vice President. I also sit on the DSU council as an Arts Rep. I am the chair of the DSU Executive Review Committee, and have also sat on the Shinerama, Diversity, Charity Ball Planning, and Academic and External Committees. I am also a board member for the DSU Sustainability Office. I have also been able to work with the Arts faculty and have attended numerous faculty meetings and hearings as a student representative.

What is your favourite place on campus and why?

The back deck of the arts center in the summer. It’s a great place to sit and eat lunch or read and get some sun! During the school year, definitely the Grad House…mmm, crepes.

Why are you running for the DSU?

I feel my experience with the DSU and as an executive member at both the departmental and faculty level has fully prepared me to take on this position and has given me perspective to lead. The DSU is capable of so many things, and I find these opportunities really inspiring. I believe my experience, skills, work ethic, and enthusiasm can help the DSU reach its full potential.

What’s your best memory from your time at Dal?

Performing the First Movement of the Gershwin Piano Concerto with the Dal Symphony Orchestra in Concerto Night 2009!

What would be your top three priorities if you got elected to this position?

                                                                • Improve communication to build engagement.
                                                                • Promote input from all campuses

                                                                Gray-wood. Wasn’t this already decided?
