What is your past experience with the DSU or with student life in general on campus?

In my three years at Dalhousie I have been President of Risley Hall, VP as well as President of the Dalhousie Women’s Rugby team, and have sat on DSU council as the Residence Representative, and have been a member of the Events Committee. I have also had experience with the Gender and Women’s Society, as well as SAHHPer. This year I am a Residence Assistant in Eliza Ritchie Hall, and attended the Canadian Conference on Student Leadership in Calgary, Alberta, which helped fine-tune my leadership abilities.

What is your favourite place on campus and why?

Any Tigers game. Why? Because it is one of the only places to hydrate with adult beverages, socialize with friends, and show my Dalhousie pride at the same time.

Why are you running for the DSU?

I am running for the DSU because coming to Dal has been the best decision I’ve made in my life, and I want current and future students to feel the same way. To do that I want to put on events that people are excited about and want to attend. I also want students to have a voice. I don’t assume to be all knowing, so I welcome ideas from anyone willing to share.

What’s your best memory from your time at Dal?

My favourite memory so far is helping raise $23,500 for the IWK through the Residence Charity Faceoff Game in March of last year.

What would be your top three priorities if you got elected to this position?

If elected to this position my three priorities will be: overall student wellness, student engagement, and student pride. Most people know VPSL to be the “fun” position but I don’t want to just focus on throwing raging parties in the Grawood; rather creating inclusive events that reach out to all students at Dal. To increase student engagement, working with the VP Internal to showcase societies during Orientation week to reach students earlier. And lastly, for student pride, working with Athletics, residences, and societies to get more tiger fans in the stands.

                                                                Is it Gray-wood or Grah-wood?

Gray-wood, but anything that works to get people out and enjoying events is good in my books.
